The Walbrook

The high-tech, suspended acoustic ceiling system, StoSilent Top A-Tec, is specified in the Walbrook, the highly prestigious new office and retail development in the city of London, designed by Foster + Partners.

This landmark building is a result of the re-development of three existing properties and the StoSilent Top installation is one of the largest specifications of the system anywhere in Europe.

The StoSilent Top A-Tec Alu Panel is a class C absorber with an average acoustic performance level of 0.70 NRC – 0.75 αW (250-2000 Hz) and is specifically designed to cope with high levels of background noise and reverberation.

The Sto system has been used in the main entrance of the building because the curved profile of the external cladding and internal walls will focus sound in areas and create noticeable and undesirable acoustic phenomena. The system was also extended to the lift lobbies at ground and first floor levels due to the connection to the main reception. The acoustic ceiling complements the curvaceous building very well.

The StoSilent Top A-Tec Alu system is made up of the StoSilent Top acoustic panel, manufactured from 96% recycled glass granulate, StoSilent Fix, incorporating an intermediate acoustically transparent base coat and finished with StoSilent Top.
