Wet Abrasion Resistance: BS EN 13300
In the UK, paint durability is measured according to BS EN 13300. The wet abrasion test involves rubbing a scotch bright fleece over the surface of the paint, and measures the loss of paint after 200 passes.
The most robust paints are rated as Class 1 (less than 5µm lost) and the least durable as Class 5 (loss of more than 70µm). |
